D2S

Software used (Finite element method based)

D2S uses software developed and maintained by ESI-Group.  D2S also distributes some of the packages.  For more in formation, please contact us.

With SYSWORLD, ESI-Group has developed a comprehensive range of modules for handling a wide variety of analysis problems : MECHANICAL, THERMAL, ELECTROMECHANICAL, and PRODUCTION PROCESSES.
The software includes powerful pre-processors, post-processors and dedicated solvers.  Following products are used by D2S  : SYSTUS, GEOMESH, VISUAL-Environment, SYSPLYand SYSWELD.

  • SYSTUS

is a multiphysics simulation software which brings a complete answer to analysis problems. Systus is an implicit code which covers fields as diverse as civil and mechanical engineering, energy and transportation.
    • Mechanics

    • Thermo-mechanics

Heat transfer

Coupled analysis

    • Electromagnetic

SYSTUS, with its SYSMAGNA module enables engineers to take into account advanced electromagnetic phenomena governed by the four Maxwell equations.

  • SYSWELD

is a dedicated product for metallurgical simulations like welding, quenching, surface heat treatment. This software is used by the automotive industry (sheet metal fabrication, heat treatment of mechanical components like gears, crankshafts...), the steel industry (simulation of quenching, melding-solidification, heat treatment), the mechanical and nuclear industry (welding of pipes, wheel hardening (railway rolling stock), heat treatment of bearings..) and is also used by research centra to study metallurgical phenomena and new  technologies.
Residual stresses, diffusion (hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen etc.) and the distribution of different phases are determined during this coupled thermo-metallurigal analysis.  In the case of induction quenching or spot welding, SYSWELD determines heat sources by magnetodynamic or electrokinetic computation.
SYSWELD is a complete tool incorporaring a set of modules for finite element method computation : definition of geometry, meshing, solution and analysis of result data.
  • SYSPLY

is an industry specific software for designing, analyzing and optimizing composite material structures. Composites materials offer tremendous mechanical performance for reduced weight structures. However, the high cost and complexity of designing and manufacturing composites usually offset the benefit of using these materials. With SYSPLY, engineers can easily compute the laminate properties of composites before manufacturing them through various processes such as filament winding, draping,.... Engineers get more insight into the knowledge of structural behavior both in static and dynamic analysis. Perfectly suited for time critical applications, SYSPLY helps accelerate the design process and decrease overall costs by reducing the material waste and the number of prototypes required.

PAM-CRASH 2G is an application-specific industrial software developed by the ESI Group to perform realistic and predictive virtual crashworthiness simulations in the transportation industry. PAM-CRASHTM is specifically designed to simulate mechanical structural testing and in particular, required regulatory crash tests, and is the world's number one in car crash test simulation.
PAM-SAFETM is dedicated to the simulation of vehicle passenger safety testing in transportation industries removing the limitations of simplified but idealized numerical models. PAM-SAFETM realistically simulates all restraint systems like airbags, seat belts (with sliprings, retractors, pretensioners...) and offers a library of validated regulation compliant dummies.
PAM-STAMPTM has been developed since 1987 in a close, creative cooperation with leading international firms throughout the world. It offers an uncomparable set of application-specific capabilities and "speaks" the user's language.  It delivers a realistic simulation of the stamping-process and its results.  An automatic discretizor, an easy tool checker, effective direct placement and modification of drawbeads, automatic tool positioning, interactive blanking, easy model set-up, automatic adaptive meshing, automatic rezoning and springback evaluation are some of the key-functions provided in PAM-STAMPTM.
PAM-CAST/SIMULORTM is a new product in the PAM-SYSTEMTM line based on the SIMULOR product by ALUMINIUM PECHINEY.  This software package is designed for casting iron or non-iron alloys, in areas as diverse as those from automobile construction to aeronautics.  Based on the numerical resolution of finite volume and using Navier-Stokes equations coupled with thermal equations PAM-CAST/SIMULORTM can simulate the filling and solidifying of parts before they make their way to the foundry.  This allows for virtual testing, optimization, and validation of molds and casts as well as the casting conditions.
PAM-FLOWTM : A new  accuracy in the prediction of aerodynamic forces.
The software is used by the turbomachinery manufacturers (prediction of the performance of their components under real-life conditions, such as in an unsteady flow regime, including rotor/stator interactions), by the automotive industry (for both external and internal aerodynamic simulations), by the railway industry (to improve driver and passenger comfort through the optimization of its air-conditioning system design and performance), by the aerospace industry (to predict aerodynamic performances of airplanes and rockets, including the interactions between them) and by the electronics industry (simulation of  the cooling and the heat transfer characteristics of electronic components).
